So, just for fun, I tried downloading and running IBM HTTP Server (which is based on Apache, so I didn't expect much difference). Well, I was wrong. IBM HTTP Server requires much less memory, and connections are handled much quicker. Plus, is doesn't seem to barf up a zillion processes at startup.
